The No. 4 Los Angeles Rams beat the No. 5 Minnesota Vikings on Monday evening to wrap up the Wild Card Round of the 2025 NFL Playoffs. The Rams are headed to the Divisional Round where they’ll face the No. 2 Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.
The Rams brought relentless pressure on Sam Darnold and the Vikings offense all night. Rookie defensive star Jared Verse flipped the game on its head with a 57-yard fumble return for a touchdown in the second quarter, and LA never looked back. Rams QB Matthew Stafford also played an efficient game, connecting on two touchdown throws and keeping LA comfortably ahead all night.
This will mark the second time this season the Rams and Eagles have faced off. In Week 12, Philadelphia went into LA and won 37-20 on Sunday Night Football. Saquon Barkley had a monster performance in that game, rushing for 255 yards and two touchdowns, while adding 47 receiving yards as well. The rushing total was the ninth highest in NFL history while the total scrimmage yards (302) was tenth highest in NFL history.
This will be the fourth playoff matchup between these two. The Rams are 2-1 in the postseason series, winning the last matchup in the 2002 NFC Championship.
